Code of Conduct for Staff and Volunteers

As a representative of the Pierre for Des Moines campaign, your actions reflect not only on the candidate but on the values of our entire team. All campaign staff and volunteers are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, respect, and professionalism at all times.

1. Respect and Inclusion

• Treat all individuals with dignity, respect, and fairness, regardless of political affiliation, background, race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.

• Foster an inclusive environment where all voices are heard and valued.

2. Professional Behavior

• Conduct yourself in a courteous, honest, and respectful manner in all campaign activities, both online and in person.

• Refrain from harassment, discrimination, or any behavior that creates a hostile environment.
   

3. Confidentiality and Privacy

• Respect the privacy of the candidate, staff, volunteers, and voters.

• Do not disclose confidential campaign information, internal discussions, or personal data without authorization.

4. Truthfulness and Ethics

• Share accurate information. Do not knowingly spread misinformation, rumors, or engage in personal attacks against opponents or voters.

• Uphold the truth in campaign messaging and refrain from deceptive practices.
   

5. Social Media Conduct

• Think before posting. Do not post anything that could reflect poorly on the campaign or undermine public trust.

• Do not engage in arguments, trolling, or personal attacks on social media.
   

6. Use of Campaign Resources

• Use campaign funds, materials, and equipment only for official campaign purposes.

• Do not use campaign resources for personal gain or unrelated activities.
   

7. Compliance with Laws

• Abide by all local, state, and federal laws, including campaign finance laws, electioneering rules, and volunteer regulations.

• Report any legal or ethical concerns to campaign leadership immediately.
   

8. Commitment to Service

• Be punctual, reliable, and communicate clearly with your team leads.

• Be a positive ambassador for the campaign and the community we hope to serve.

Acknowledgment
All staff and volunteers are required to read and acknowledge this Code of Conduct prior to engaging in campaign activities. Violations may result in disciplinary action, up to and including removal from the campaign.
