Meet Pierre Blosse
From France, to California, to Des Moines IA...to Des Moines WA

I was born in Nantes, on the west coast of France, and moved to the San Francisco Bay in California at age 10.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Genetics and Plant Biology from UC Berkeley, where I worked in a biotechnology lab studying wheat genetics. I went on to complete a Master of Business and Science in Biotechnology at KGI near Los Angeles — a unique program blending a traditional MBA with a Master of Science.

After graduate school, I moved to Des Moines, Iowa, where I spent nearly a decade at DuPont Pioneer. There, I worked as a project manager in biotech research and later as a Compliance Manager in the Legal department.

10 years ago I founded IVYX Scientific, a company that has since grown into a global supplier of laboratory and medical equipment.

In 2019, I moved from Iowa to Des Moines, Washington — and quickly fell in love with this beautiful city on the water. My partner Autumn and I are raising our two sons here: Remi, who attends Des Moines Elementary, and Emil, born in March 2025. As a parent, I care deeply about creating a safe, supportive, and inspiring community for all families.

Today, I serve as Vice President of the Des Moines Legacy Foundation — a nonprofit dedicated to supporting underserved communities, expanding access to the arts, and creating opportunities for children. It’s a privilege to work with so many passionate neighbors who care deeply about our city’s future.

Now, I’m running for City Council to bring new energy, practical leadership, and a voice for families to City Hall.
